Better Patio Designers is the outdoor-cover division of Better Green Scapes — a licensed, bonded, and insured Orange County contractor (CA #1105274) with a 5.0 average on Google. The team was already installing custom aluminum patio covers, motorized louvered roofs, and full California rooms as part of their broader landscape work.
What they needed was a dedicated brand and website for the covers business alone — so homeowners searching specifically for a "louvered pergola in Rancho Santa Margarita" would land on a page built around that decision, not buried inside a general landscaping site.
Two brands under one roof is a design problem. Better Patio Designers had to feel distinct from Better Green Scapes — its own hero photography, its own product framing, its own point of view on outdoor architecture — while still being recognizably part of the same family.
The homeowner audience also had a very specific decision to make: which of four cover types is right for their home? Louvered, Solid, Lattice, or Insulated — each with a real price implication. The site needed to help them get to a ballpark before they picked up the phone.
The hero opens on the actual work — a golden-hour louvered cover under palm trees — and lands on "Shade, elevated to architecture." The identity is confident, editorial, and immediately obvious it belongs to specialists, not a general contractor with a services page.
Halfway down: an interactive ballpark calculator where homeowners set a width, a length, and any add-ons (lighting, fans, electrical). A live number appears. The number is deliberately labeled "ballpark, then call" — so it earns trust without pretending to be a final quote. Every conversion path lands on "Call for a Free Quote" — phone-first, because that's how this business actually closes.
A brochure site would have been half the work. What made this project real work is that every page was designed around what actually happens when a homeowner is deciding on a $10K+ outdoor room.
Custom width/length/add-on inputs with live pricing math. Sets expectations up front so the follow-up call is about the details, not the "is this in our budget" question.
Every conversion path lands on a tap-to-call. Because the actual sale happens on the phone, not in a lead form. The site is the qualifier; the call is the close.
Distinct voice from Better Green Scapes while sharing the underlying business. Homeowners searching for covers find covers — not a general landscape page.
Each product type (Louvered / Solid / Lattice / Insulated) gets its own explainer with the decision-maker's language, not the contractor's. Buyers arrive knowing which one is theirs.
